Scope of Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams within the Westchester office and supporting the Ortho Now program (Registration/Front Desk, Physician Practice, Research, EMG, TMS)
  • Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for examinations, reviewing patient statuses and assisting in obtaining patient data required for the rooming functions in Epic
  • Support the department by assisting the physicians, nurses and other personnel by obtaining vital signs, lab specimens (skin biopsy, venipuncture) and EKG’s as needed
  • Preparing specimens for the lab and ensuring hand-off to courier
  • Foster efficient patient throughput, deliver excellent customer service, and establish and maintain an organized professional environment.
  • Assist the physician in treatments and procedures and ensure physician orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.
  • Participate in our supportive and team-oriented environment.
  • Prepare patients for exams and orient patient/family to the environment
  • Assist with disinfecting exam rooms and other clinical work space between patient use
  • Assist patients with wayfinding and transport (e.g., wheelchair) throughout the site
  • Assist in managing patient information, uploading CD images & making copies of pertinent exams
  • Assist with patient rooming tasks (i.e., medical history, vital signs, pulse oximeter readings, height/weight, temperature, etc.)

Minimum Requirements
