ED Highlights
- Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of our 40 Emergency Rooms
- The opportunity to work with cutting-edge medical technology and equipment
- Level III trauma center
- Self-scheduling unit with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational Professional Growth Opportunities
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- RN - Current Registered Nurse required Upon Hire
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire required
- TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of hire required
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire
- 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
- 2-3 years ER experience preferred.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
