JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the circulating nurse and overall direction of the Assistant Managers, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services and Vice President of Patient Care Services the surgical technician assists in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

up to $20,000 Sign-on bonus!*

Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)

Typical Hours: Days, 10 hours/shift, on call rotation

Education:

- High School Diploma or GED– required

- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program– preferred

Certification & Licensures:

- BLS Certification - required

- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)– preferred

Experience:

- Prior experience within a Surgical Technician role OR completion of a surgical tech training/course- required

Clean and dress stretchers in preparation for next patient. Clean procedure rooms, including procedural tables, countertops, floor mats and wall suction systems. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA). Or, provides evidence of the successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military. Level I- Entry level position for new graduates of Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologists with 0 to 18 months experience.
