Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
  • Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
  • Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Preferred Job Requirements:  

  • 6 months’ medical clinic experience 
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Essential Functions 1. Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). 2. Support patient visits by performing chart prep and scrub, greeting patients, escorting patients to exam room to take vital signs, and relaying other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the visit and treatment. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program. Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree.
