Santiam Women's Clinic and Family Birth Center is currently seeking a talented and team-oriented Certified Nurse Midwife interested in a moonlighting position with a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment. Our well-established Women's Clinic and Family Birth Center boast a robust referral base with 175-200 births annually and offers a range of birthing options, including in-room laboring tubs. This position will provide coverage for weekday call shifts, acting as the first call OB provider in our low-risk birthing hospital.

Salary Range: $1,200 per 24-hour call shift, $175/hour for call back if present for more than 4 hours

Schedule: Weekday call shifts (day and/or night), with flexible moonlighting hours based on availability

Benefits: Not applicable for moonlighting position; however, malpractice insurance is provided for all call shifts.

What You’ll Do

The CNM will manage labor and delivery, provide prenatal and postpartum care, and ensure high-quality, patient centered care for low-risk pregnancies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first call OB provider during weekday shifts, managing labor and delivery for low-risk patients.
  • Conduct prenatal assessments, monitor labor progression, and provide intrapartum and postpartum care.
  • Provide clinic coverage for prenatal care and weekly OB checks as needed, including routine examinations and patient consultations.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs during call shifts, including emergencies, while adhering to hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Provide patient education and support for natural childbirth, breastfeeding and postpartum recovery.
  • Uphold the hospital’s commitment to compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care.

Qualifications


What You’ll Need

  • Successful completion of a nurse midwifery program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education
  • Current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
  • Licensure by the Oregon State Board of Nursing to practice as a Nurse Midwife Nurse Practitioner
  • Current ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification
  • Strong clinical skills in managing low-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a low-risk birthing center or hospital setting
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
  • Availability for flexible weekday call schedules
