You can choose to work in a "home" environment, one-on-one with each client to ensure a high quality of care for your client. We are a private pay agency and our work environments are clean and safe, some clients do have small animals and some do not.  We will place you based on your preferences. We are ready to assist as you care for our seniors clients who are still living at home and have high needs.  Short shifts and long shifts are available both mornings and evenings.  We like to introduce multiple clients to our caregivers to help prevent burnout.  We hire PT to start and for the "right" person, it can become full time. By joining the Right at Home Columbia MO team, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an experienced care manager with over 25 years of experience and highly responsive administrative team.  We truly believe in team work to support all of our clients successfully as they age in place with care plans changes being monitored and communicated regularly and effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with transferring client from place to place throughout their home with supportive items such as gait belts and/or mechanical lifts
  • Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry and cleaning the bathroom
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
  • Charting your tasks both electronically and in company supplied binder after each shift
  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments 
  • Communicating effectively with Right at Home Care manager
  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Dementia and/or Alzheimer's safety care and monitoring, respite care
  • Companionship activities such as listening, reading, music, puzzles, etc.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school graduate required.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance 
  • Must be availabe to work every other weekend
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Automobile insurance required
  • Pass a background check without flags
  • CNA license, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification "preferred" but we will consider training the "right" person.
