Essential Functions 1. Provides consistently exceptional care at all times. 2. Provides patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with others as required and adjusts care plan as necessary to ensure optimal care. 3. Accurately and safely administers sedation/analgesia, monitor patients’ responses, ensure patient safety during procedure and document according to policy & procedure. 4. Performs systems assessment at designated and appropriate intervals on all assigned patients,recognizing disturbed physiology and abnormal parameters. 5. Assesses pain levels on all patients. 6. Assesses patients and develops an individualized perioperative patient plan of care. 7. Medication administration is safe, accurate and timely. 8. Monitors patient reaction to physician orders. Reports any untoward change in patient condition to appropriate individual(s). Correctly and concisely reports patient status. 9. Recognizes unusual conditions outside of his/her expertise and seeks guidance of coworkers or supervisor. 10. Functions as a circulating nurse 11. Accurately communicates with surgical technologist all pertinent information regardingimplants (size, type, product, and serial numbers) and documents this information in the implant log. Collaborates with surgical technologist to accurately complete implant/explantlogs. 12. Monitors and ensures accuracy of documentation in patient medical record. 13. Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel. 14. Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulatory and licensing standards and ensures that practice is compliant with standards. 15. Environmental services duties to include cleaning of the operating area. 16. Maintain required competencies. 17. Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
