Certified Medication Aide (CMADuties and Responsibilities:

·       Administers prescribed, routine medications, treatments and PRN medications in accordance with company policies and procedures

·       Observes residents for adverse reactions to medications and reports any concerns to the supervising nurse.

·       Takes and records vital signs prior to administration of medications

·       Documents the administration of medication in the resident’s record.

·       Communicates all deviations in the delegated medication administration to the nurse. 

·       Assists the nurse in providing care to residents, which includes observation and reporting of resident needs.

·       Prepares and stores medications in accordance with instructions of the manufacturer or pharmacist.

·       Maintains neat, clean, and orderly medication room(s) and medication cart(s).
