Wound and Infection Control Nurse Duties and Responsibilities: Identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting trends in healthcare-associated infection Ensure compliance with the facility infection prevention and control program Has completed specialized training in infection prevention and control Identifies, manages and treats specific skin disorders, pressure ulcers, and primary and secondary lesions, and any skin issues directed to by Director of Nursing. Provides, within established protocols and under the supervision of the physician, treatment for skin disorders as ordered by the physician. Ensures that residents with decubitus ulcers, vascular ulcers, and various other skin conditions receive appropriate treatment and/ or prophylactic treatment. Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Duties and Responsibilities: · Administers prescribed, routine medications, treatments and PRN medications in accordance with company policies and procedures · Observes residents for adverse reactions to medications and reports any concerns to the supervising nurse. · Takes and records vital signs prior to administration of medications · Documents the administration of medication in the resident’s record. · Communicates all deviations in the delegated medication administration to the nurse. · Assists the nurse in providing care to residents, which includes observation and reporting of resident needs. · Prepares and stores medications in accordance with instructions of the manufacturer or pharmacist. · Maintains neat, clean, and orderly medication room(s) and medication cart(s).
