Seniors Helping Seniors® Kansas City Metro South is an in-home service that matches seniors who need help with seniors who want to help throughout the Kansas City area. We have a vibrant, fast-paced, and friendly office environment and are hoping to find the right person to join our expanding office team.

Job Description Summary:

The In Home Caregiver is a member of the team who works under the supervision of the Administrator to perform various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs, according to the plan of care. The Caregiver is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Caregiver include, but are not limited to the following:

      Personal care tasks to include:

  •       Bathing
  •       Grooming
  •       Assist the client with dressing and undressing
  •       Assist the client with toileting activities
  •       Provide client with help walking and transferring
  •       Observe client’s physical, mental and emotional conditions
  •       Report any change to the supervisor
  •       Document observed changes
  •       Assist client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminder)

      Homemaker tasks to include:

  •          Preparation of meals
  •          Doing dishes
  •          Laundry
  •          Shopping
  •          Household chores
  • Companionship and Socialization 
  • Transportation 

 

      Report to the supervisor any incidents, problems, emergencies, or changes in client's condition

      Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities

      Assist in providing a safe environment and promote quality patient care through adherence to established policies, procedures and standards

      Use equipment properly and in a safe manner

      Maintain appropriate work records

Qualifications:

      High school diploma, preferred

      Must consent to and pass a background screening process

      Have a baseline and annual TB test on record with Seniors Helping Seniors Kansas City Metro South

      Complete a self-reported health history

      Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision

      Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills

      Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English

      Works as a team member

Lead Caregiver

JOB SUMMARY: This caregiver position will be focusing on our new client startups. The position will require a very good set of caregiving skills, experience and the ability to be flexible regarding your daily tasks and responsibilities. Responsibilities will include care giving, caregiver training, caregiver introductions, client visits and care evaluations, office administrative tasks and on call work. The position will be a fulltime position. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provides onsite caregiving with initial focus on new client startups. · Participates in on call / off hours coverage of phones and available caregiver. · Provides fill in caregiving when normal care givers may call off on a shift or have scheduled time off. · Performs on site caregiver training and evaluation visits. Care giver performance, standard of care and current care plan will be evaluated, documented and communicated to Client Care Manger. · Conducts client caregiver introductions. · Document care / issues/ events in ClearCare and in client / caregiver files. · Conducts client and caregiver in home training visits on a predetermined schedule for the purposes of care plan compliance and the evaluating quality of care and going forward care plan updates. · Acts as a liaison between RAH caregiver, RAH clients, client families, office staff, and outside contacts. · Pro-actively learns the scheduling role and is able to actively back up this position in times of vacation or illness to the primary scheduler. · Actively engages in training and new hire orientation when required. · Protect company records and property. · Participate in educational opportunities in health care. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY · Ability and flexibility including evenings and weekends for off standard hours duties such as introductions, pop ins and shift coverage. The intent is this is no less than a 40 hour/week position. · Reliable transportation, clean (insurable) driving record, and the ability to plan in home visitations with overall efficiency relative to location and priority. · Excellent perceptive listening skills, recording information in written format. · Proficient with Clear Care. · Read, write, clearly speak, and understand English. · Good organizational skills and ability to properly prioritize and multi-task. · Ability to work autonomously making sound judgment while following standards and guidelines. QUALIFICAITONS: 4 to 5 years of practical in-home caregiving experience.
