Our 12 chair Outpatient Infusion Center offers patients and their families a specialized care environment to meet their unique safety, physical and emotional wellbeing needs. Our highly skilled infusion team provides a wide range of antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, hydration, blood transfusions, and other supportive care for both peripheral and central lines.   • Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.
  • Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
  • Documents nursing care and activities.
  • Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.
  • Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters
  • Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment.
  • Assists with the training of other staff.

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of  a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience

  • Prefer previous hospital experience.
  • Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary.
  • If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience),

Licensure / Certification

  • Current Oklahoma LPN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Position Title: Infusion LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Stephenson Cancer Center at Hillcrest - Tulsa Department: Hillcrest Infusion Center Job Description: The Hillcrest Chemotherapy Infusion Center is an adult outpatient facility at the Stephenson Cancer Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma that has 5 port draw stations, treating roughly 100-140 patients each day with medication injections, central line port draws and peripheral venipuncture procedures. This is a fast-paced, team-centered environment that requires great communication skills and the ability to multitask. Our department orientation includes one-on-one precepting, so we welcome candidates who are willing to learn a new specialty. General Description: Under general supervision of a registered nurse, provides nursing care in a hospital based outpatient department to an assigned group of patients with a complex oncology diagnosis. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Administers medications safely under direction of physician or other medical personnel Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
