A Brief Overview
The Nursing Supervisor coordinates and directs nursing operations of all hospital units during off shifts. Acts as a liaison with physicians, patients, families and staff. Schedules personnel and makes patient care recommendations and ensures effective patient throughput activities.

What you will do
  • Patient Flow and Patient Placement
  • Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow throughout the hospital
  • Reviews clinical information regarding anticipated admissions, both scheduled and emergent
  • Provides bed placement for patients at the right time and to the best possible location

  • Facilitates telehealth consultation for patients in collaboration with the clinical teams on each unit

  • Support staff with interpersonal and cross departmental collaboration and resolution of differences in opinions or strategies with a global and open mind
  • Provide feedback to unit leaders regarding gaps in clinical care and provide solutions for improvement

  • Oversees staffing, skill mix and clinical productivity of all units within the hospital
  • Assists with resource sharing as needed to support variations in volume and acuity across the hospital

  • Supports and serves as a clinical resource to staff in order to provide excellent and efficient clinical care
  • Serves as a resource for vascular access throughout the hospital

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure that required staffing levels are met for each shift on a daily basis needed to render care for the number of residents assigned to her/his responsibility. Make sure that staffing level adjustments are made each shift as needed and the Federal required posted schedule is adjusted to reflect current actual staffing. Attend, participate and lead the weekly resident "At Risk" meeting ensures resident care and condition concerns are identified, interventions are appropriate to cause and follow up is completed. Attend and participate in morning clinical review meeting. Attend and participate in PPS meetings as indicated. Attend and participate in monthly QA and A meetings, as assigned, and assist with follow up for any identified problems.
