THE VILLA AT BLUE RIDGE, located in Columbia, Missouri is currently seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to join our team.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift
  • Help Residents with personal hygiene
  • Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse
  • Document Resident food and fluid intake
  • Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements
  • Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy
  • Transport Residents within the facility
  • Assist nurses and other staff as needed
  • Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures
  • Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current and Valid CNA certification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills 
  • Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations

Key Duties: Perform basic care skills under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse including vital signs, intake/output measurement, catheter care, CPR, restraint management, bowel and bladder training, and documentation of care in the patient record. Responsible for assisting the licensed nurse in meeting the patient's needs in the areas of personal hygiene, personal care, skin care, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support. Shift Start & Reporting The shift begins promptly at 6:00 AM . Handoff report to the oncoming shift must be completed before leaving . 2. Patient Monitoring Complete all ordered vital signs and blood glucose checks . Perform and document routine safety checks for all assigned patients. 3. Intake & Output (I&O) Management Empty Foley catheters and ostomies at least once prior to the end of shift. Accurately document all patient intake and output. 4. Call Light Response Remain in a location where call lights are visible. Respond promptly and appropriately to all patient requests. 5. Repositioning Turn and reposition patients at least every 2 hours . 6. Hygiene Provide bed baths and assist with all personal hygiene needs, including toileting. 7. Meal Support Deliver meal trays to patients. Return one hour later to: Document meal intake for each patient. Return remaining trays to the dirty utility room. 8. Environmental Cleanliness Remove any full or malodorous trash from patient rooms promptly. Collect and remove soiled linens as needed.
