Summary/Objective 

The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides a variety of patient care activities to patients of all age groups, implementing measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others.  Maintains awareness of current developments, evidence based practice and trends in nursing research with a focus on the specific patient population in which they are employed.

  2. Performs and assist providers with patient care activities which includes but not limited to Vital signs, administering injections, phlebotomy, minor procedures and patient education.
  3. Responsible for ordering all medical supplies needed for assigned clinic..
  4. Interacts with physician practices, pharmacies, drug reps, third party payers and other departments.
  5. Maintains required documentation of patient care and clinic activities in accordance with standards.
  6. Ensures nursing skills are performed effectively according to established standards of care.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Required License/Certifications

Current LVN license in the State of Texas

BLS Certification within 30 days of hire

Job Summary: Provides nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse of physician/advanced practice provider. Utilizes observational skills to observe nursing intervention and assists medical staff to insure optimal care within established policies, procedures, and standards. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider provides nursing care in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice and treats coworkers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect. Essential Responsibilities: Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers; shows courtesy, compassion, and respect; conforms to the critical service standards established for the department.
