Job Summary:

Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department and regulatory standards.  Duties include floating to the entire Outpatient Services area which includes: Day surgery, Endoscopy Lab, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-operative Clinic and hospital needs of conscious sedation for special procedures. Use skills in nursing assessment to include peri-operative education and care, recognizing post anesthesia and post-operative complications. Facilitates discharge and transportation of patients to outlying nursing units or home. Participates in 24 hour call rotation.

Education and Training:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing required; BSN preferred.

Licensures/ Certifications:

  • Current Washington State RN license; Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR and PALS certification cards on hire.

Experience:

  •   Prefer at least one year experience in a hospital or outpatient surgery clinic.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills

This is a full-time position located at our facility in Lewiston, Idaho. The RN Manager provides consultation and acts as a liaison between medical staff, program staff, community healthcare providers, and both in-state and out-of-state contracting partners. This position is also responsible for budgetary oversight, participation in policy and procedure development, and maintaining quality assurance programs to ensure the highest level of care for youth in IDJC custody. State juvenile correctional centers are located in Lewiston, Nampa, and St. Anthony and provide a full complement of services for youth who range from 10 to 20 years of age. This position reports directly to the Facility Administrator and works collaboratively with statewide and facility leadership to ensure the health, safety, and medical care of youth in custody. Responsibilities: Serve as the Facility Health Authority, overseeing all medical operations, nursing services, and quality assurance programs.
