As a RN Charge Nurse, you will carry out our Mission of Love by being responsible to organize, deliver and direct professional nursing care to residents.

Our RN Charge Nurse is responsible for the following:

  • Serves as charge nurse for assigned resident care unit assuring continuous clinical leadership at all times. Directs NAs regarding resident care and notifies families, physicians and departments of residents' needs.
  • Collects data on residents and accurately documents residents' condition in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, the resident's response to the care, and medical assessment of the resident. Completes assigned paperwork, i.e., wound documentation, MARS, TARS, Care Plans, etc. on each resident on assigned resident care unit.
  • Performs clinical testing such as glucometer and pulse oximetry as necessary. Administers ordered medications and treatments as approved, including monitoring of IV fluids. Monitors effectiveness of medications and treatments.
  • Prepares for and performs weekly resident rounds with the physician. Accepts physician's orders including verbal/telephone orders as appropriate and compliant with regulations and nursing practice. Transcribe physician's orders to residents' charts and care plans as required.

What You Have:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current RN licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certification required (prior to or upon employment).
  • Must commit to working a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month OR 16 hours per month during the week.
  • Must work at least 1 summer and winter holiday.
