Job Summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in our Intensive Care Unit to join our team.

Highlights:

You will join a team of 7 attending Physicians, 7 Nurse Practitioners.
The unit is covered 24/7 by 2 Mid level providers. The Hours of coverage vary 7a-4p, 4p-8a, and 7a-8a. Your shifts will vary throughout the month.
Weekend and holiday coverage is expected. There are (3) 25 hr shifts of weekend time per month. Usually, one Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There is call associated with this position - It will vary, minimum of 6 calls per month. Shifts will vary according to need.
The PNP is responsible for a practice that demonstrates a high level of autonomy, clinical decision making and advanced skill in management and treatment of complex illnesses in the critical care environment.
The PNP provides leadership and clinical support for the interdisciplinary team in the PICU/CCU/SCU, engages in research and quality management activities and, participates in multidisciplinary educational activities.
Procedures expected to perform in the hospital setting: Endo tracheal Intubation, Arterial and Central Venous Line Placement, Chest tube placement, Bedside Procedural Sedation, Spinal Taps
Average number of patients seen - We have a 26 bed PICU that also houses Cardio Thoracic and Burn Patients.

Advanced Practice Provider Variable Neonatology

Job Description The Nemours Neonatology team is looking for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding NICU in Wilmington, Delaware. We will be expanding in 2025, adding 14 new inpatient rooms. With this expansion, the NICU will house 45 beds as a contiguous unit. Our shifts are all rotating and will require holiday commitments. The Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) at Nemours Children's provide the best start in life for babies born too early or with medical problems. Our NICUs are Level IV, which is the highest level of neonatal care. Newborn medicine specialists, or neonatologists, take care of babies around-the-clock in this high-tech unit. Pediatric surgeons and experts in every specialty have direct access to the NICU. Key Responsibilities Manages and provides care for the patient requiring neonatal intensive care utilizing collaborative consultation with team members, under the direction and supervision (but not necessarily the direct attendance) of an attending neonatologist. Receives a distressed neonate in the Delivery Room and initiates appropriate intervention. Performs a complete newborn physical examination and assessment of gestational age, discriminating between normal and abnormal findings. Conducts parent interviews and takes family history. Collaborates with neonatologists concerning pertinent historical events, physical findings, diagnostic and therapeutic measures initiated on all admissions. Orders appropriate laboratory tests and procedures. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary and appropriate for the care of the patient. Reviews and provides general care items involved in neonatal care, such as temperature stabilization, hyperalimentation therapy, feeding management, and phototherapy. The Nemours Cardiac Center (NCC) provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular disease. The Cardiac Center provides patient care, performs research, educates and trains health care professionals in a variety of settings. This individual will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, dedicating his/her specialized practice to cardiac patients located in either the cardiac intensive care unit, on our telemetry floor or in our post anesthesia cardiac unit (cardiac PACU). The APRN or PA will also be involved with cardiac babies delivered on site in our advanced delivery unit. Our patient population ranges from newborns to young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. Our surgeons perform all of the complex cardiac repairs, including definitive neonatal surgery, adult congenital surgery, and heart transplantation. They utilize all forms of mechanical support (VAD’s, ECMO, ECLS) as an adjunct to our very active heart failure and pulmonary hypertension service. This position will include working some night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Essential Responsibilities Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret laboratory data, and prescribe management and medications on patients admitted to our inpatient service. Present patients on rounds, write daily progress notes, collate inpatient records, and complete discharge summaries using the electronic medical record. Assist in the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients. Provide continuity of care when coordinating care with other members of the health care team. Job Description Nemours is seeking a part time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Plastic Surgery Team! This position is casual or part-time and is exclusive to night and weekend call. Key Responsibilities On site presence, including rounding and participation as a surgical first assist is expected. Provide independent and collaborative care as a member of the plastic surgery team for pediatric patients requiring diagnosis, evaluation, and management of plastic surgery clinical needs.
