CNA Certified Nurse Aide Job Overview
The primary purpose of the CNA Certified Nurse Aide position is to assume the responsibility of providing the highest level of quality nursing care for specific residents as prescribed by the physician’s orders, the care plan, and other recognized sources and in accordance to facility policies and procedures.
CNA Certified Nurse Aide Duties
Complete Certified Nurse Aide duties as assigned or directed by the Charge Nurse, Unit Manager or Supervisor.
Report residents’ needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.
Must possess the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Assist in the mobility of patients using devices such as Hoyer lifts.
Support patients with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and other memory-related conditions.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Engage in caregiving activities for patients in various settings including acute care, long-term care, and hospice care.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.

CNA Certified Nurse Aide Qualifications
Successfully completed a Nursing Assistant training course
Currently Certified Nursing Assistant certification from the State of New York.
