Job Summary:

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE IV at Duke Cardiology of Raleigh, located in Raleigh, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Identify care needs for patient populations across the continuum of care. Collaborate and provide leadership in the development of standards of care, patient/family education and staff education to address the needs of specific populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and provide leadership within the delivery of patient care.
  • Provide leadership in clinical workflow, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health-related projects.
  • Provide evaluation, direction and guidance in the proper selection, use, care and control of material resources. Appraise quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and collaborate with appropriate departments to assist with vendor selection and feedback on performance.
  • Guide the professional growth of others across the continuum of care (CMAs/CNAs/Nurses) through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring. This may include designing orientation modules, task assignments, workflow processes, and primary precepting of nurses, unlicensed personnel, and students.
  • Provide leadership at a departmental, entity, community or regional/national level for initiatives focused on improving the quality of care for populations of patients and growth of others.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Effectively recommend personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree.
  • Applicants must meet all requirements set forth by the DUHS Career Ladder Program for the Level IV. 
  • BLS required.
  • Cardiology experience required.
  • Experience in Triage preferred.
  • Experience in Stress Testing strongly preferred.
  • Proficient IV placement/skills
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date


Job Hours:The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
