Responsibilities

Functions in a leadership role, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team as a direct care provider and clinical expert.  Develops and implements practice guidelines, participates as active and integral member of clinical pathway team, and maintains the established standards of care and practice through staff development, clinical improvement activities, and patient/staff education.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION

PREFERRED

BSN degree Two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the clinical specialty. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Provides telephone counseling to breastfeeding mothers in the community. 5. Collaborates with physicians, nurses and families to establish and maintain a team approach to promote successful lactation. 6. Evaluates, maintains, and assists with the use of appropriate breastfeeding aids and equipment. 7. Assists in the design and implementation of individualized patient teaching care plans to promote consistent patient care in lactation management. 8. Keeps Lactation Coordinator informed of administrative and clinical matters pertinent to successful breastfeeding management and lactation consultant services. 9. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in basic breastfeeding techniques and the management of uncomplicated breastfeeding problems. 10. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to Manager. Qualifications REQUIRED : Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
