Our Critical Care division offers opportunities to work in highly specialized areas, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/step‑down), and our Chemotherapy department. Critical Care Nurse responsibilities include: -Advanced Assessment of a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plans. -Providing advanced life support including ventilator support; Assisting physicians in performing procedures. - Observing and recording patient vital signs as well as intake and outputs every one (1) hour. - Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly. - Administering continuous vasoactive and cardiac medications; Ordering diagnostic tests. -Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team; Provide care using nursing standards and Hospital/ICU protocols for treatment. -Acting as patient advocates; Providing education and support to patient families. -Caring for both medical and surgical patients; Providing care to the immediate post-operative patient. -Responding to Rapid Responses and medical emergencies throughout the medical campus. -Being part of end of life conversations as well as collaborating with the Palliative Care and Hospice teams. -Providing CRRT therapy. The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating patient care within the assigned area(s).
