Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is one who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures. Although the RN works collaboratively with other perioperative professionals (e.g.: Surgeons, anesthesia professional, surgical technologists) to meet patient needs, the RN is accountable for the patient outcomes resulting from the nursing care provided during the operative or other invasive procedure. Using clinical knowledge, judgement, and clinical reasoning skills based on scientific principles, the RN plans and implements nursing care to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient having an operative or invasive procedure. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Two years of Perioperative services experience preferred or graduate of AORN Perioperative 101. Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Administrator and the direct supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse, the Skilled Nursing Activity Coordinator, CNA (Activity Coordinator) provides a variety of patient care activities across life span and accommodative services for assigned patients. The Activity Coordinator develops, coordinates and manages activities for Skilled Nursing Center patients/ residents. These activities are carried out according to hospital policy, the hospital mission statement, and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION High school graduate or GED equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Previous experience working with aged or handicapped individuals. Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Certification in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant. Basic Life support Certification through the American heart Association. Certified Activities Director or currently enrolled in state approved activities director course.
