Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position Title : Licensed Practical Nurse Reports To: Director of Nursing Department: Nursing FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician orders, and standards of practice. The LPN coordinates and oversees resident care plans, ensures quality care delivery, and promotes a safe, supportive, and healing environment within Manatee Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct resident care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies. Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule. Monitor and document residents’ conditions, including vital signs, responses to treatment, and any significant changes. Supervise and guide Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other support staff to ensure quality care and compliance with standards. Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, complete required documentation and assessments. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans, progress, and concerns. Ensure proper infection control and safety procedures are consistently followed. Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and staff training initiatives. Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations. Uphold confidentiality and residents’ rights at all times. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program Licensure: Current, unencumbered Florida Licensed Practical Nursing license. Experience: At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred, especially in long-term care or skilled nursing facility settings. Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist residents as needed. Prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive movements required. Must be able to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively. Work Environment Long-term care and rehabilitation facility. May be exposed to infectious materials, odors, and varying temperatures. Team-oriented environment focused on high-quality resident care and safety. CNA, LPN, RN Weekend Program! *NEW*

MANATEE EVERY WEEKEND NURSING PROGRAM 1. Commit to working every weekend, Saturday/Sunday; day, evening or night shift. 2. May pre-schedule 4 weekends per year PTO and continue to meet program requirements. 3. Employee subject to center attendance policy. 4. Employee will lose the Every Weekend pay for all weekend days if they call out for either day of either weekend in pay period. If every weekend differentials forfeited due to not meeting program requirement, standard shift differential and standard weekend differential will be paid for weekend hours worked in that pay period. 5. Employee will receive start rate plus $3.00/hour differential for weekend hours worked for Nurse Aides and $ 4.00/hour differential for Nurses. All other hours worked in the pay period will be paid the standard shift and differential as applicable. 6. Paid time off is accumulated for this position. 7. Program open to RN, LPN, and Nursing Assistants.
