CRNA Nurse Anesthetist

Position Summary: The Nurse Anesthetist administers anesthesia under medical direction for diversified surgical cases, utilizing inhalation, intravenous, spinal or rectal agents. Emphasis in the work is on skilled application of appropriate professional techniques, constant review of anesthetized patients' condition during surgery, and completion of remedial measures to counteract unfavorable clinical conditions. Incumbents are also responsible for immediate preoperative and postoperative care of patients in the introduction of and recovery from anesthesia. Work is performed in accordance with recognized professional principles and techniques. All procedures and techniques utilized during anesthesia for surgery are subject to supervision by the Attending Anesthesiologist assigned to that area. Responsibilities Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition Performance of clinical intervention as needed Requirements Current license as a registered professional nurse Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists

Minimum Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida. Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent nursing education. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or equivalent specialty certification. Experience working in a high-volume urban hospital emergency department. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in acute care settings. Strong background in trauma nursing and critical care interventions.
