Position Title: School Nurse Position Summary : To provide school nursing services for Preschool through Eighth grade students. Duties and Responsibilities: The School Nurse is responsible to: Coordination: Assess the health and safety needs of the school environment in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, implementing the Blood borne Pathogen Control Plan and other interventions as indicated. Manages school health records Participate in the development of health-related policies and procedures Assists Principal with Disaster Preparedness Planning and Training Schedule yearly CPR and First Aid classes for staff Assist in providing Blood borne Pathogen information to staff Maintain medication protocol to safely store, administer, document and monitor medication given at school Maintain campus AED’s Supervision: Given: Received: Office Manager Desirable Qualifications: Ability to: Effectively assess the health needs of students and take appropriate steps Communicate regularly to parents and students in a sensitive manner Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others E. Education and Experience: EDUCATION : RN preferred plus pediatric and/or school nurse experience.
