Your responsibilities will include: Prepares, stocks and organizes operating room with the right supplies, equipment, instruments and fluids to ensure every procedure can start smoothly Obtains various equipment for upcoming surgeries including carts, video equipment, and positioning devices. Monitoring equipment for potential issues and promptly reporting concerns to support smooth, safe surgical operations. Identifies malfunctioning equipment and initiates repairs via repair tag. Transporting and transferring patients safely, verifying their identity, and following protocols for those with special needs or medical equipment. Observes proper precautions for patients with mobility issues or attached medical equipment. Transports various specimens safely to appropriate departments Assisting with cleaning and turning over operating rooms between cases and at the end of the day to maintain a safe, sterile environment. Disposes of all trash, regulated medical waste, and soiled linens. Maintains a safe and clean environment in the hallways, OR rooms, offices, lounges, supply areas, holding area, scrub sinks, refrigerators and bathrooms, including routine sanitation. Maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the surgical suite to help protect every patient. Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures. Returns equipment to appropriate storage locations promptly after cleaning and appropriate disinfection. Performs other duties as assigned.
