Description The APN/NP is a specialty health care provider who provides medical and nursing services to individuals and families. The APN/NP is adept at diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses, and emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention. Services include, but are not limited to, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing medications, and teaching counseling individuals and families. Comprehensive health assessments with a broad scope of medical management for patients with acute and/or chronic health problems characterize the APN/NP’s practice. Ad POSITION AVAILABLE: PM shift weekdays, AM and PM shifts on weekends ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform approved inpatient procedures, if trained and credentialed (including endotracheal intubation and central venous line placement); training will be provided as needed for procedures and support provided by supervising physician. Provide first-line in-house coverage, escalating care to the supervising hospitalist as needed. Independently manage acutely ill patients using ACLS protocols and evidence-based care pathways, with supervising physician guidance. Lead and manage Code Blue and Rapid Response events in collaboration with, and with immediate access to, supervising physician for guidance and support Demonstrates clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Develops medical treatment plans based on scientific evidence-based practice and evaluates outcomes. Mentors staff/students in aspects of advanced nursing practice and patient care Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patient health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations. Initiate and participate in admission histories and physicals, medical consultations in related subspecialty, and discharge planning. Order diagnostic tests and procedures. Establish a diagnosis based on the history, physical examination and diagnostic test results. Formulates differential diagnosis. Evaluate results of diagnostic testing of laboratory tests, EKG’s imaging studies, and medical procedures. Make appropriate consultations and referrals. Develop a treatment plan based on diagnosis and evidence-based practice that is mutually acceptable by the patient and family. Determine the effectiveness of the treatment plan with documentation of patient care outcomes. Reassess and modify the treatment plan to achieve optimal health and medical goals for the patient. Teaches and counsels families in medical conditions, treatment plans, preventive care and anticipated outcomes. Documents in the medical record with SOAP charting all care provided or procedures performed by the APN/NP. Include differential diagnosis in the documentation. Description The Certified Surgical Tech will function under the direct supervision to service patients in the Endoscopy Lab. and provide direct and indirect technical assistance to the physician; performs a variety of duties to assist the team in care of patients during GI lab procedures. Description The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs test procedures the clinical laboratory and conveys the results to the physician or designee in an accurate and timely manner for the purpose of patient diagnosis and treatment. The senior technologist serves key resource to team and customers for problem resolution. Performs as a generalist maintaining competency in all the core laboratory sections including but not limited to Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, and Blood bank. This position is a Casual, 10pm - 6:30am Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all aspects of pre-analytic workflow appropriate for the specific laboratory section to ensure orders are entered correctly, specimens collected are appropriate for the test ordered and are correctly processed/transported. Participates in the receiving and processing of specimens. Performs all aspects of analytical testing for the specific laboratory section, following established written protocols and standard operating procedures. Performs preventative maintenance on instruments/equipment. Verifies reagents and supplies meet acceptability criteria and ensures enough reagents and supplies are available. Performs and records all necessary quality control, evaluates QC results and takes necessary corrective actions. Prioritizes testing based on established priorities and within defined turn-around-times. Responds effectively to changes in the workflow by coordinating a simultaneous series of tests when needed or adjusting work to incorporate STAT tests or fluctuations in work volume. Reviews result for completeness, correctness, and consistency within defined test system. Recognizes unusual test results/interpretations and completes indicated reflex testing or other follow-up actions.
