Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes. Provides an accurate and pertinent report of patient’s condition for safe transfer of care. Documents the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner utilizing the appropriate tools. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations. Utilizes critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation. Formulates and implements a teaching plan for patients and families based upon identified learning needs. Evaluates effectiveness of learning. Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories. Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret the results. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring; identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately. Performs patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes. Performing safety checks, utilizing fall prevention program, works to utilize interventions to de-escalate patients and if unsuccessful participates in restraints in accordance with training and educations as directed, following the restraint policy standards when caring for a restrained patient. Demonstrates knowledge of airway management procedures and the ability to utilize appropriate equipment. Demonstrate the ability to assist providers with treatments / special procedures and the ability to use related equipment. Maintains a good rapport/relationship and a cooperative working relationship with outside agencies i.e. Public Safety Officials; police, fire, EMS organizations, referring agencies ECF, Visiting Nurse Association’s, Department of Child and Family Affairs (DCF). Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Maintains clinical competence and awareness of all ECHN policies, procedures and guidelines.
