Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic/Surgical Unit .8FTE Evening/Night Shift

We are currently hiring for an RN - Orthopedic/Surgical position! This is a .8 FTE with Evening/Night shifts, requiring 8 hour shifts every other weekend. Current RN License Required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience is preferred. An RN position in the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit at Gillette Children's involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients under 18 who are recovering from surgery and require an inpatient stay of one or more nights. In addition to post-surgical care, nurses in this unit also care for non-surgical patients needing medical treatment that requires a short hospital stay. RNs in this role collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to manage pain, wound care, and recovery, while also educating families about the treatment process. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, family-centered approach to care. This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and/or provide skilled assistance in navigation of the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families. Compensation & Benefits Information The hourly wage for this opportunity is $41.22-$70.45. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure: $1.75 weekends/ $2.35 evenings/ $4.00 nights differential is available for this position. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications Required Documentation of completion of professional nursing program (RN program) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (exception: Telehealth RNs). If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment. NA/UC position for the Inpatient Neurosciences Unit. Benefit Eligible position! .6 FTE, evening/night shifts. Evenings are 3pm-11:30pm and nights are typically 11:00pm-7:30am - 8-hour shifts and every other weekend. Purpose of Position This position provides both clerical support and patient care responsibilities. Clerical support is provided to the nursing departments through coordination of communication, transcription of provider orders, and maintenance of unit supplies. Patient care is provided by assisting the professional nurse in meeting basic activity of daily living (ADL) needs of the patient while maintaining an orderly and safe physical environment. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
