Essential Functions: Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients. Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/family/support person in order to address all identified needs. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient. Essential Functions: Helps prepare unit, resident rooms, and resident beds for receiving admissions or transfers. Assists in, and as necessary, accompanies resident in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Utilizes call light system as necessary. Provides morning care including bath, changing linens and dressing resident, evening care and other general care as necessary throughout the 24 hr. day. Assists in providing restorative care to residents. As directed, accurately record vital signs, weight, height, intake/output and consumption, and other required documentation. Provides resident care including positioning, lifting, turning, and ambulating the resident and utilizing special equipment as necessary. Prepares the resident for meals, distributes food trays, water, nourishment, feeds or assists residents to and from dining room. Encourages intake as indicated. Under supervision, performs general care activities for residents in precautionary. Provides post mortem care makes rounds on residents and answers resident call lights promptly. Practices universal precautions. Encourages restoration of function and prevents resident deterioration to the extent possible. Encourage residents to attend therapies as prescribed. Handles and cares for residents clothing and other personal property from admission through discharge. Transports residents to and from various areas as needed. Collects specimens and transports same to proper area as needed.
Fisher-Titus Nurse Residency Program The Nurse Residency Program is designed for new nurse graduates with less than one year experience. The purpose of this program is to assist with the transition into clinical practice. The nurse residency program will focus on the development of critical thinking skills, clinical leadership, and decision-making skills. Fisher-Titus is seeking recent graduates from an accredited nursing program to join our team. A program designed for the new registered nurse Throughout the 12-month residency program, the new Staff Nurse will experience: Trained and supportive preceptors to help the individual develop their clinical skills, delegation, time management and professional practice. Educators and Leaders who are invested in the Staff Nurses individualized learning plan. Increasing decision-making competence and confidence Improving professional commitment and satisfactions Emphasis on consistently utilizing evidence-based practices Building stronger clinical nursing leadership and critical thinking skills Courses and simulation experiences to deepen the Nurse’s knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice.
