The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is an advanced practitioner, prepared at the Master of Nursing level or higher. The APRN contributes to the advancement of evidence-based nursing practice and continuous improvement of comprehensive quality patient care. The APRN advances oncology nursing practice as an expert clinician, interdisciplinary consultant, educator, researcher, and nursing leader. The APRN achieves this through involvement in clinical support, education, research, organizational support, quality initiatives and professional growth. The APRN is accountable to be responsive to the dynamic needs of the organization, staff and patients within the changing health care environment. Serves as a leader, consultant and change agent in advancing the practice of nursing among other nurses and across organizations. The Subramaniam lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study mechanisms of mRNA translation and post-transcriptional regulation in human cells. Our group uses high-throughput experimental and computational approaches to understand how mRNA sequence elements and regulatory factors control gene expression in both physiological and disease contexts. Current projects leverage ReLiC, a high-throughput CRISPR screening platform that we recently developed to systematically discover factors that control translation and mRNA stability on a genome-wide scale (Nugent et al., Nature Methods 2025). The fellow will lead projects that build on this platform and develop new questions and tools in this space. We are particularly interested in understanding the effects of cell identity, environmental stresses, and subcellular mRNA localization on post-transcriptional gene regulation. We are also actively studying the role of non-canonical translation events in antiviral immunity. The Subramaniam lab is part of the Basic Sciences Division and the Computational Biology Program at Fred Hutch, providing a collaborative environment at the interface of molecular biology, functional genomics, and data science. Responsibilities Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients’ adaptation to health changes Develops a plan of care based on patients’ disease, symptoms, and response to treatment Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care Refers patients, families and caregivers as appropriate to other clinical resources/professionals such as social work, home health care, clinical nutrition, etc. Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care Integrates research and evidence based knowledge into clinical practice In addition to primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurses (RN), the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) will have the following key responsibilities: Direct Patient Care Education patients and families: chemotherapy, central lines, injections, home care Telephone and email symptom triage Dressing changes, medication administration, injections New patient orientation Caregiver support Assessment of needs for additional supportive care resources Prescription refills Result reviews Indirect Patient Care Supportive care referrals FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, Ferry passes Coordination of outside clinical care Ensuring continuity of care with outside providers Collaboration with research team for patients on trial Communication and Teamwork Attend regular team meetings with provider and nursing teams Coordination of care with ancillary services Delegation of tasks to appropriate team members Coordinating patient schedules with clinic team Collaboration with infusion RN and other members of the care team to assure patient needs are met Real-time management and escalation of issues in clinic Professional Development and Clinic Engagement Document all nursing care activities accurately and in a timely fashion. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Active participation in continuing education, departmental projects, committee work, and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Must have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and must upgrade to an MSL primary state of residence, WA, within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval. Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years Additional certification may be required dependent upon department. Preferred: BSN prepared nurse OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or BMT RN 2 years of oncology nursing experience Previous telephone triage experience Previous outpatient clinic experience Takes initiative Good communication skills Skilled at multitasking and organization The hourly pay range for this position is from $45.35 to $84.80 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Non-Malignant Hematology

Overview Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Non-Malignant Hematology , on the Full Time Clinical Faculty pathway with an approximate 80:20 contribution to clinical service and academic pursuits. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time clinical faculty member specializing in clinical care of patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders. This position will be at the Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology at UW. Fred Hutch and UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. This position will focus primarily on exceptional clinical care of patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders at a world-renowned comprehensive cancer center. The non-malignant hematology group is committed to providing outstanding patient care, and members of the non-malignant hematology disease program will be expected to be a part of the clinical and research mission of the program. The position may also involve participation in the administrative, research, and instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division. Teaching responsibilities involve oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, and lectures. The position will be based at the South Lake Union main campus, but there is the possibility that the incumbent could see patients at one of Fred Hutch’s community clinics. The primary, annual appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. The position will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and the Division Head of Hematology and Oncology. Clinical experience with classical hematology (especially disorders of coagulation and cellular hematology) will be prioritized; translational research experiences and interests will also be considered.
