Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation is seeking compassionate Qualified Medication Aides to become a part of our team where our primary goal is to provide exceptional care to our residents. About the Role: Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation is seeking Qualified Medication Aides to- Prepare and administer safely and document regularly prescribed oral medications to residents. Administer as allowed, oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse. Understand that injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse. Demonstrate knowledge that the telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA. Understand and demonstrate knowledge that appropriate vital signs will be taken and recorded as required before administering certain medications. About you: The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience: Must be certified as Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana. Must complete a State approved training program in medication administration. Must possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies. Must perform only those duties that were taught in the approved training program. Nursing Responsibilities: Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following: Administer medications Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider Performing 14-day physicals Managing chronic care Providing patient education on health concerns Responding to medical emergencies Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency. Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non-formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
