The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities: Following the care plan, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes Assumes responsibility for assignments given, seeks supervision appropriately, and is accountable for his/her actions by performing within the limits of his/her education and experience Performs basic nursing procedures such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and monitoring patient conditions. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and performs nursing procedures and techniques within scope of practice.
