About the Job: As a Licensed Nursing Assistant in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, you will play an important role in providing quality patient care. You will be responsible for providing comfort and support to patients during their post-operative recovery process. You will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, answering patient questions, and ensuring the safety of our patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with patient transfers, administering medications and treatments as directed by the nurse or physician, and reporting any significant changes in a patient’s condition. What You’ll Do: Monitoring vital signs and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary. Assisting with patient transfers and positioning. Maintaining a safe environment for the patient, family, and staff. Who You Are: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Nursing Assistant License in the State of New Hampshire. Overview Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Outpatient Surgery Center Full-time 40 hours p/week 7:00am - 5:30pm, M-F The Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) At Dartmouth Hitchcock is a free standing center located on the DHMC Lebanon campus. The OSC operates eight operating room suites and is dedicated to providing care for adult and pediatric patients requiring same-day surgical procedures. The ultimate goal of the OSC is to provide the right care, in the right place and the right time for our patients who seek our surgical services. The OSC is growing and needs an individual who can function clinically as well as be a part of a multi-faceted team. Responsibilities Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, performing ADL’s, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc. Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc. Assists visitors and answer telephones. Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High school graduate required. Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use. Previous hospital experience preferred. Required Licensure/Certifications Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
