Qualifications Required: ASN or Nursing Diploma from an accredited Nursing Program Strong communication and organizational skills Flexibility and adaptability and must be willing to meet the needs of the unit Proficient computer skills Minimum (2) two years recent/current Mother/baby experience Preferred BSN Certifications And Licenses Required Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement BLS from the American Heart Association NRP Certification Scheduling Requirements Per Diem Days 7a-7:30p Must be available to work one (1) weekend shift per month. Must be available to work 2 shifts a month Monday-Friday 1 Summer: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day 1 Winter: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, NEW YEAR’S Day Essential Functions The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available. The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary Day to Day Supervision of Licensed and Non-Licensed staff, including counseling/disciplinary action, evaluations, one-to-one in service, suspension Maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing unit Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents total regimen of care Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. RN Manager Requirements/Qualifications: Must have a current NYS RN license. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. MUST HAVE at least 2 years long term care experience 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions and work autonomously. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as requires. Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish this position. Must be able to adjust to a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights and weekend work hours.
