Prepare Patient for or assists with examinations and treatments. Maintain charts and other records of Patient conditions and/or administered treatment. Educate and counsel Patient regarding their health, medications, and treatment goals and procedures, as appropriate. Monitor supply inventories, and completes requisition forms to ensure adequate supply levels. As necessary, observe and supervise the activities of unlicensed direct care staff, including the administration of medication, to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and report observations to higher-level staff. Education / Certification Currently registered in New York State or has possession of a valid permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing processes. Experience: Previous Long term Experience in LPN role is preferable. Good investigative skills. Ability to write, educate and work independently. Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data of students via progress notes. Administers medications as prescribed. Supervises secured storage of medications. Refers all consults and diagnostic reports to registered nurse for review. Transports students to appointments as necessary. Maintains Nursing Office. Orders supplies and equipment as required. Visits students at home as requested by Director or designee. Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing Services field.
