A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide comprehensive nursing support across multiple K-12 schools in Newcomb, NM. This onsite contract role spans the current school year through May 29, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. The RN will serve as the Lead Nurse overseeing health aides, administering medications, and delivering first aid and health care to students and staff while ensuring compliance with school health policies. Key responsibilities include: Acting as Lead Nurse and supervising Health Aides on campus Providing first aid, basic health care, and administering prescribed treatments Supporting students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy Documenting health office visits, medication administration, and immunization records Assisting with student health screenings and accommodating IEP/504 plans Responding effectively to health emergencies Collaborating closely with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers Traveling between 23 school sites within the district Qualifications and experience desired: Current RN licensure with CPR/AED certification Proven ability to work effectively in a school environment or with pediatric populations Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to pass background checks and fingerprint clearance Preferred: bilingual in English and Navajo (Din) and familiarity with school health regulations, student care plans, and FERPA requirements This position offers an opportunity for an experienced school nurse to make a vital impact on student health and well-being in a culturally rich community.
