Responsibilities What You'll Do: We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) who assesses consumers and documents pertinent information including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and/or Substance Abuse issues. Demonstrates knowledge of Crisis Intervention and the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations and will provide education to consumers and their families regarding Behavioral Health diagnosis, medications, and treatments. Completes detailed Nursing Assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments, and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools. Accurately record all medication brought in by individual on medication reconciliation/storage form. Plans individual treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical team. Provides education concerning Psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care. Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors. Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required. Accurately transcribes Provider orders and administers medications as prescribed. Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form. Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed. Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when required. Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility. Performs all other duties as assigned. Overview NaphCare is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team of medical professionals in Tucson, Arizona, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Pima County Detention Center. We are currently hiring for Full Time positions! As a Correctional Nurse , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. *New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare! * Responsibilities As an LPN , you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to: Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare Observing patient health and mental health status Providing emergency first aid Providing patient education and discharge/release planning Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred) Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
