How you make a difference The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides assistance and collects data in the delivery of patient care in a correctional setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As part of this role, the LVN directs and guides patient teaching and activities in accordance with their education, demonstrated competencies, and the Nursing Practice Act (NPA). The LVN works closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and compliance with established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Assist in patient assessment and treatment planning in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and Correctional Health Services policies. Administer medications and implement medical plans as directed by the Health Care Practitioner, utilizing proper techniques and procedures. Respond to emergencies and maintain safety through the implementation of established protocols and precautions. Implement nutrition and therapeutic diets and assist in medical procedures as necessary to meet patient needs. Document nursing encounters and communicate information to healthcare staff and supervisory personnel. Additional Details Starting LVN Rate: $35.20 + 7.5% Evening Shift Differential added by Timekeeping System Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Experience One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred Licenses/Certifications Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state employed. About this role The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) provides psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients, including medication management and crisis intervention services, while adhering to established policy and procedure and state guidelines. Maintains thorough documentation in compliance with organization policies and procedures, state guidelines, and best practices, including medication education, seclusion/restraint use, infection control, and risk management. Provides individualized care sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient, and participates in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required. Adheres to established formularies for therapeutic regimens and utilizes established procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while supporting standards of psychiatric care and providing input into committees and meetings as requested.
