Job Summary and Qualifications The 4 Central Trauma S tep Down/Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the Trauma PCU RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The Trauma P CU RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response. Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Overview NaphCare is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse (RN ) on night shift to join our team of medical professionals in Jacksnville, Florida, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Jacksonville Pre-Trial Detention Center. As a Correctional Charge Registered Nurse (RN ), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence while also overseeing the nursing staff and operations, acting as a supervisor and coordinator. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. Responsibilities The Charge Registered Nurse coordinates shift activities and performs a wide range of duties, including assessing patients, administering medications, managing emergencies, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs, medical histories Conducting daily clinical rounds, providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services Responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities Educating patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting treatment plans, and reporting any relevant information Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within Florida Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred) Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Two years of full time RN experience with knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Able to work independently and in a team Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift. Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. Required Education: Associate's Degree Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
