Job Summary The Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services Systems is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care using the nursing process, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership skills in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating work assignments, as well as effective problem-solving abilities to respond to changing patient needs. Clinical Practice JOB FUNCTIONS Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly. Works to ensure his/her compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Education: Provides patient/family education and acts as a resource for existing staff and new employees. Can participate in the Preceptor class to ensure proper training of new employees. Communication: Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient. Attends daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift. Customer Relations: Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers. Utilized the patient’s communication board (white board) to identify name, date, goals, other staff and procedures or test for the day to keep the patients and families informed. Complies by the NMHS behavioral standards. Self-Development: Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in the nursing practice. Attends annual review and unit specifics within the department. Performs required continuing education hours online and in classroom. Regulatory Knowledge: Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Licensed by the board of Nursing for the state. Qualifications Education Associate's Degree Registred Nurse. Required Other (Experience) Complete RN Orientation and approved unit specific checklist requirements. JOB SUMMARY The Resource Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services coordinates and provides direct patient care to ambulatory walk-in infusion patients for various therapy types. They ensure timely and quality documentation in the medical record, participate in clinical activities for patients receiving infusion therapy, and educate patients and staff. The Resource Nurse has the authority to make decisions related to nurse scheduling, clinical judgment, and selecting appropriate infusion devices. | **JOB** **FUNCTIONS** | | --- | * This position coordinates and provides direct patient care to ambulatory walk-in infusion patients for all therapy types: antibiotics, blood, chemo, injections, pump refills. * This position has direct responsibility of ensuring timely and quality documentation in the permanent medical record for clinical, legal, and reimbursement purposes. * This position participates in clinical activities necessary for patients receiving infusion therapy on continuous pumps; for PICC/Midline services; nurse education and specialty drug education as needed. * This position participates in patient/staff education and all other areas of total patient care to optimize outcomes.This includes: Review/monitor patient charts monitoring & reporting documentation. * Account charging & Safety Solutions/ADR. Patient admission into computer systems according to policy procedures. * Inventory maintenance.
