How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Additional Details Pay rate up to $60/hr Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment. How you make a difference The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) provides psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients, including medication management and crisis intervention services, while adhering to established policy and procedure and state guidelines. They maintain documentation required by state or facility guidelines to demonstrate compliance with supervision requirements. Key Responsibilities Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops plans of care, and evaluates effectiveness of interventions, including medication management and crisis intervention services. Maintains thorough documentation in compliance with organization policies and procedures, state guidelines, and best practices, including medication education, seclusion/restraint use, infection control, and risk management. Provides individualized care sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient, and participates in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required. Adheres to established formularies for therapeutic regimens and utilizes established procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while supporting standards of psychiatric care and providing input into committees and meetings as requested. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Experience Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution. Licenses/Certifications Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice highly desired. Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract. The position is a part-time, variable shift position, 20 hours per week total. The compensation range is $42.41 to $47.12 per hour based on experience. Schedule: To be determined On-call every other week overnights (24/7) and be compensated to do so. Previous Corrections or Emergency Department experience preferred, BUT NOT REQUIRED. AHA BLS Certification is required, and a NJ RN License (or compact license) is required.
