Practice broad-scope medicine. Requirements Master's degree (MSN) A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Family Practice/Primary Care environment Licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in practice state Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical providers Appropriate certification to write prescriptions under the authority of the Collaborative Physician in accordance with state and federal guidelines Thorough knowledge and adherence to HIPAA, OSHAA, and clinical quality standards Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software Demonstrated problem-solving and work flow management skills Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records (we use Athena) Must be willing to develop a thorough understanding of the Mission, Vision, Values, and Patient Promise of Proactive MD and be a champion of them in each patient encounter. Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides excellent care to our patients, acting as a frontline representative of our Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. We promise to always fight for their greatest good.” The RN provides medical care at the direction of the provider of the Health Center based on the needs of the patient and works to meet the individual needs of each person that walks in the doors of the Health Center. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provides complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures. Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient. Documents data and assessments in the patient record. May use a computer system and information technology to ensure standard documentation, coding, and completion. Assists the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care. Executing medical regimens and nursing interventions as appropriate for the setting and their competency. Patient health counseling and instruction, including meeting with families and caregivers. Medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, education. Operating medical equipment. Maintaining medical supplies, inventory, and disposal. Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA guidelines. The position may include triage of calls for urgent appointments, referrals for patient consults and testing, insurance pre-certification, and documentation. May use general office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing, copying. Excellent customer service skills are needed for interacting with patients, families, and caregivers. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: RN with a current nursing license in state of practice Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current BLS certification through American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date 1+ year of clinic nursing experience preferred Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal requirements Must be able to interpret and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of Proactive MD Work Environment & Physical Requirements This job primarily operates in a medical office environment and is required to interact with patients for the majority of the workday. The physical demands to perform the essential functions of this job are: Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment and travel intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time. Employee will occasionally be required to lift office products and supplies up to 20-30 pounds. POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This role is considered a PRN (as needed), non-exempt position. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on the schedule of the individual health and wellness center.
