Certified Home Health Aides should have the following skills and qualifications: High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. At least 1 year experience as a Caregiver/ Certified Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities). NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide a must Must be fully covid vaccinated & booster 2-step PPD Phycial within the last 12 months Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job. Possess a valid driver’s license and insured automobile Responsibilities of the Certified Home Health Aide- Certified Home Health Aides help patients in a variety of ways which may include taking their vital sign or giving them medication under a nurses direction. They must record and report this data as medically necessary. Certified Home Health Aides also can help patients with their daily functions, such as dressing or taking a bath. They can assist with planning for doctor's appontments, other meetings and may organize transportation for them. Home care aides must meet all registration, criminal background checks and training requirements as specified by the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau and Nurse Next Door policies. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Responsibilities of the home care aide include, but are not limited to, the following- · Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer. · Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that are within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide. · Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing. · Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation. · Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel. · Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating. · Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care. · Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship. · Assisting clients with medications reminders which are ordinarily self-administered. · Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer. · Completing records regarding services performed. · Driving to appointments or to run errands. · Accurately records all hours worked. · Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance. · Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements. · Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau. · Other duties as assigned by the administrator or designee. Physical Demands · Regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. · Required to reach with hands and arms. · Required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. · Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move from 25 up to 50 pounds. · Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. All affiliated Home care aides employed by Nurse Next Door to provide in-home care services will be 18 years old (or if under 18 years of age be a high school graduate or enrolled in a vocational education program) and have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other agency staff. Home care aides must meet all registration, criminal background checks and training requirements as specified by the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau and Nurse Next Door policies. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Responsibilities of the home care aide include, but are not limited to, the following- · Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer. · Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that are within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide. · Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing. · Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation. · Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel. · Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating. · Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care. · Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship. · Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer. · Completing records regarding services performed. · Driving to appointments or to run errands. · Accurately records all hours worked. · Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance. · Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements. · Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau. · Other duties as assigned by the administrator or designee.
