Registered Nurse - Education Manager

SUMMARY

The Education Manager provides planning, direction, and coordination of educational activities at MCH. This position includes direct and indirect training of nursing and non-nursing staff throughout the district so that required competencies are attained and kept current, orientation and annual training as required by the district and regulatory agencies is satisfactorily completed, newly identified educational needs are met, and the organization’s mission, vision, values, and goals are promoted. The Education Manager serves as a resource person to staff and management, working cooperatively with all MCH departments in providing educational activities, and maintaining collaborative relationships with external education facilities. The Education Manager is directly responsible for the leadership of the Nurses Fair, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and other educational needs as determined. This position also oversees the Junior Volunteer program and is the liaison/coordinator for any outside nursing programs wanting to clinical rotations within the hospital.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.

Bachelor’s degree in education, management, nursing, or organizational development or equivalent

combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience in planning, developing and executing educational programs preferred.

Experience in facilitating group activities, presentations, workshops and events preferred.

One to two years experience in specific nursing service i.e. Emergency Services, Perioperative Services, Medical Surgical Services, Skilled Nursing Services preferred.

BLS, ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS Instructor certification preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current State of California Nursing license.

Current CPR certificate.

ACLS required

PALS required

NALS preferred
