DEFINITION:  Will assist in the delivery of patient care as a member of the GI team and assumes appropriate responsibility for providing safe, efficient patient care through the performance of the tech role duties during GI procedures under the direction of the perioperative Registered Nurse and the physician. This position requires strong communication skills, must be attentive to details, have a thorough knowledge of GI anatomy, have a commitment to the team concept, and have a strong commitment to task. He/she will maintain skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively, changes in assignment and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Requires taking call.  EDUCATION:   As required by the State Board of Nursing.  REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):  Current Basic Life Support. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse program with current Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  1.
