Job Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant to provide care to pediatric patients (ages 0–21) with orthopedic needs on a casual/PRN basis. This role involves working 1–2 days per week within a multidisciplinary care team. The selected candidate will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with an attending physician and support the overall care of children seen in the outpatient clinic at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for collaborative medical management and orthopedic surgical care of pediatric patients.
- Responsible for communicating with families and coordinating care across multiple specialties for both the hospital and outpatient setting.
- Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.
- Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
- May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so.
- Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
- Evaluates compliance with the prescribed treatment regimen through telephone calls, family/patient assessments and outpatient visits as needed.

- Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure required for PNPs
- Active Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure, with prescriptive authority or Physician Assistant Licensure with or without prescriptive authority required
- Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) & Federal DEA registration with Delaware Address
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Pennsylvania Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant Licensure, with prescriptive authority required within 6 months of hire
- Current Pediatric Acute Care APRN Certification for PNPs
