Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Dept: Interventional Radiology
Shift: Full Time / Start Time Varies from 7am - 8:30am / 72 Hours Per Pay
On-call shifts for after-hours emergencies
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital
The clinical nurse (CN) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The CN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The CN also coordinates/directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The CN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The CN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others.
Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Associate (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Valid Ohio RN license
Knowledge/Skills
- Patient Assessment: Reviewing medical history, allergies, physical status, and lab results (e.g., coagulation, renal function).
- Patient Education: Explaining the procedure, answering questions, and verifying NPO (fasting) status.
- Sedation Management: Administering and monitoring moderate (conscious) sedation and analgesics.
- Continuous Monitoring: Tracking vital signs, oxygen levels, and EKG rhythms to detect complications immediately.
- Emergency Response: Rapidly addressing reactions to contrast dye, bleeding, or cardiac/respiratory issues.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods while wearing heavy lead aprons for radiation protection.
- Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
