Lincoln Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital and proud member of MaineHealth, is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our experienced and collaborative Primary Care team. As part of MaineHealth’s comprehensive network, Lincoln Hospital’s Primary Care team delivers expert, patient-centered healthcare across multiple locations, including Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Waldoboro, and Wiscasset, Maine.
This is a float position requiring travel between multiple primary care office locations around Lincoln County, Maine.
The Float Virtual Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide high-quality virtual primary care services across multiple primary care practices within our system. This role supports continuity of care for established patients, assists with new patient onboarding, performs telehealth visits not requiring physical examination, manages provider in-baskets, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives across the network.
As a HPSA-designated worksite and a not-for-profit organization, primary care providers affiliated with Lincoln Hospital may be eligible for federal student loan repayment programs including the HRSA National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program and Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual visits for new and established primary care patients, including chronic disease management, medication follow-ups, and acute concerns appropriate for telehealth.
- Support practice panels during clinician absences by addressing time-sensitive patient needs remotely.
- Facilitate new patient establishment visits, reviewing medical history, medications, and health maintenance needs prior to assignment to a permanent provider.
- Manage clinical in-baskets, including medication refills, lab and imaging follow-up, patient messages, and care coordination with the broader care team.
- Collaborate with primary care teams to meet quality metrics such as preventive screenings, immunizations, and chronic disease management goals.
- Document all encounters and communications in the electronic health record (EHR) following system standards and compliance requirements.
- Participate in care team huddles, case reviews, and performance improvement projects as assigned.
- Maintain current licensure and certification appropriate to the scope of practice and telemedicine regulations in relevant states.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care or family medicine preferred.
- Experience providing virtual or telehealth care strongly desired.
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred) and digital communication tools.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and system quality initiatives.
- Fully virtual or hybrid schedule with flexibility based on system needs.
- Equipment and telehealth support provided by the organization.
- Will coordinate coverage across multiple primary care sites as assigned.
