As an integral member of our Magnet Nursing team, the successful RN candidate will be focused on – patient advocacy and delivering the highest quality of care to our patients! Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in a clinical setting
Collect comprehensive data on patients’ health (from patients and/or family members); Analyze data to determine needs & develop individualized care plans; update care plans based on progression and pathway as well as manage care delivery
Ensure that all physician orders are carried out appropriately and timely; work collaboratively with ancillary staff, including Patient Care Assistants
Integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes
Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers
Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment
Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital

BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
1+ years’ of acute care experience
NYS RN license and registration required
Excellent phlebotomy skills
BLS certification required

Essential Qualifications

HCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferred
Your scope of duties will include medical-surgical clinical competence, incorporating physical and emotional assessments, age specific competency, critical thinking skills, and educating patients and their family members regarding their plan of care and clinical pathway.

PALS certification (through American Heart Association) is required for all RNs working in the PACU, 5I Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery and 226 Ambulatory Surgery Center. All newly hired, inexperienced nurses must receive this certification within 12 months. All newly hired, experienced nurses must receive this certification within 6 months. NRP certification is required for all RNs working in the Mother-Baby unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU. All newly hired nurses to the NICU, L&D, and Mother-Baby must receive this certification within 6 months. Effective 10/31/25 all RNs working on 5I are required to have NRP. Experienced RNs will have 6 months to obtain and new graduates will have 12 months. All registered nurses and advanced practice nurses providing direct oncology care must demonstrate one of the following: Current cancer-specific certification in the nurse’s specialty by an accredited certification program. Performs grade I-IV Decubitus Care; performs preventive skin care measures; applies simple dressings, maintaining principles of aseptic technique; applies warm and cold compresses, consistent with facility procedure; performs irrigations, consistent with Facility procedure; performs other procedures related to skin care, as necessary. Administers medications correctly and safely; correctly identifies medication in terms of action, dosage, side effects, and implications for the patient; meets standard on medication administration examination; demonstrates preparation of local solutions. Administers and documents medication correctly; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions. Participates in patient and family education; provides patient with an explanation of his/her condition as indicated; communicates assessment data in an orderly fashion by recording, updating and verbalizing pertinent information to care team members and to appropriate agencies; recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources /materials available for this teaching; provides for early discharge planning and appropriate referrals for post-hospital care; evaluates the effectiveness of teaching by feedback from patient/ family and documents same. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions. Job Qualification Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date. Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
